CONVECTION DRIVEN FLOW BETWEEN MOVING DISKS- A NON-LINEAR APPROACH FOR MODELLING THERMAL RADIATION

چکیده

Flows involving two disks have significant applications in heat exchangers, rotating machinery parts, data storage devices, oceanography and viscometers. In this investigation, mass transfer characteristics are examined Casson flow between orthogonally moving disks, with nonlinear thermal radiation under the slip convective conditions, using powerful tool of similarity transformation. A MATLAB code, based on quasi-linearization, has been developed for numerical study. It is observed that, when receding, disk expansion ratio raises velocity profile near center region disks. The trend is, however, reversed approaching each other. Moreover, all governing parameters remarkably elevate fluid temperature at a central both cases. remarkable lowering concentration distribution also noted Schmidt number chemical reaction parameter. Finally, compared to profiles, it which least affected.

Radiation-Driven Warping. II. Non-Isothermal Disks

Recent work by Pringle and by Maloney, Begelman & Pringle has shown that geometrically thin, optically thick, accretion disks are unstable to warping driven by radiation torque from the central source. This work was confined to isothermal (i.e., surface density Σ ∝ R−3/2) disks. In this paper we generalize the study of radiation-driven warping to include general power-law surface density distri...

Heat generation and radiation effects on steady MHD free convection flow of micropolar fluid past a moving surface

This paper was concerned with studying the magnetohydrodynamic steady laminar free convection flow of a micropolar fluid past a continuously moving surface in the presence of heat generation and thermal radiation. Similarity transformation was employed to transform the governing partial differential equations into ordinary ones, which were then solved numerically using the finite element method...

Unsteady MHD free convection flow and mass transfer near a moving vertical plate in the presence of thermal radiation

The problem of unsteady MHD free convection flow and mass transfer near a moving vertical plate in the presence of thermal radiation has been examined in detail in this paper. The governing boundary layer equations of the flow field are solved by a closed analytical form. A parametric study is performed to illustrate the influence of radiation parameter, magnetic parameter, Grashof number, Pran...

CONTROL OF CHAOS IN A DRIVEN NON LINEAR DYNAMICAL SYSTEM

We present a numerical study of a one-dimensional version of the Burridge-Knopoff model [16] of N-site chain of spring-blocks with stick-slip dynamics. Our numerical analysis and computer simulations lead to a set of different results corresponding to different boundary conditions. It is shown that we can convert a chaotic behaviour system to a highly ordered and periodic behaviour by making on...

Modelling Bidispersive Local Thermal Non-Equilibrium Flow

In this work, we present a system of equations which describes non-isothermal flow in a bidispersive porous medium under conditions of local thermal non-equilibrium. The porous medium consists of macro pores, and in the solid skeleton are cracks or fissures which give rise to micro pores. The temperatures in the solid skeleton and in the fluids in the macro and micro pores are all allowed to be...
